Why have children? dincs, this is for you! - parenting

First there were Yuppies (Young Urban Professionals). Then came the Boomers, the Busters, the Boomlets, and Cohort X. Now we have the DINCs, which stands for Amplify Income, No Children. I'm not discussion about those who are powerless to have family or who postpone having offspring until their pecuniary catastrophe or mega-time-commitment to career has stabilized. I'm referring to those who are gritty not to have children. Ever. Period. If this is your situation, entertain believe what follows.

Those of us who have crossed the Rubicon into fatherliness know all about the liabilities involved--expenses, added stress, unasked-for criticism, development to cries at 3 A. M. We also know its joys--a baby's smiles, that first step, the first words, appreciation for the barely league big play, charitable away the bride to a creditable man. And, well, yes, we know about the challenges it presents us--having to be more accountable and less impulsive, appearance home on time, forecast ahead, having to set a good example, having your inconsistencies and hardly hypocrisies exposed.

It is in this last area--parenthood's challenges--that its furthermost blessings lie. Offspring force us to be converted into less self-centered, to think of a further person's good ahead of our own. It is true that God will also be doctrine DINCs to befit unselfish, but the education course will almost certainly be more drawn-out and arduous for them. What I'm maxim is that family can be the carve God uses to carve us into the image of Jesus Christ. Those loving relationships you form with your offspring can pull you by means of any trials.

The Bible is quite clear about the value of children: "Sons are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from Him. Like arrows in the hands of a fighter are sons born in one's youth. Blessed is the man whose palpitation is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their enemies in the gate" (Ps. 127:3-5 NIV). Of course, what is true of fathers and their sons is also true of mothers and their daughters.

All of this, and we haven't even mentioned relieving the bareness felt by all of us PODWOGs (Parents of DINCs Exclusive of Grandchildren)! Think about it!
